Short Description of Instrument
The Visual Impairment in Parkinson's Disease Questionnaire (VIPD-Q) assesses ophthalmologic symptoms across 4 domains according to structures: (1) ocular surface; (2) intraocular; (3) oculomotor; and (4) optic nerve.
Scoring and Psychometric Properties
Scoring: 17 items, 4 in each of 4 domains and 1 question on visual hallucinations, 4-point Likert scale for each, self-report
 
Psychometric Properties: Cronbach coefficient a 0.86 (95% CI, 0.84-0.87)
Rationale/Justification
Strengths: Good internal consistency
 
Weaknesses: Not yet validated with objective measures of vision or ophthalmological disease
